Normally, the GNN Poll is reserved for questions involving golf industry issues, such as anchored putting, the economy and participation in the game, among other topics, but let’s lighten up this week.
You may have heard about a tournament being played in Augusta, Ga., this week and with the Masters in most people’s minds considered the unofficial start of the golf season here (even if it often isn’t thanks to the weather), let’s turn our attention to the first men’s major of the season.
In keeping with tradition prior to every major championship, Tiger Woods has been installed as the favourite to shrug the Green Jacket over his shoulders on Sunday.
Yet, as we all know Tiger’s career has been in turmoil the past few years, with personal conflicts, injuries and swing changes as major factors, but it all seems to be settling down.
With four Masters wins already to his credit, Woods has won three times on tour this year, the latest triumph just a couple of weeks ago at Bay Hill, and his erratic putter is working in his favour.
On the other side of the coin, there are few others at this point who seem ready to step to the plate and take on Tiger at Augusta and that leads us to the topic of this week’s GNN Poll.
Admit it, you’ll be keeping an eye on the Masters this week even if you are working, so go ahead , have some fun and cast your vote on what you think will happen this week. As always, you can voice your opinion in the Comments section below.
