When the GNN Poll asked back in mid-May if bad weather was causing a slow start to the season in your area, or if you’re off to a good start, the results were overwhelming.
The majority of respondents, or 85 per cent, said the weather wasn’t cooperating at all, with 15 per cent saying they’d had some interruptions in play, but it wasn’t too bad. Nobody took the option of saying the season is off to a great start.
Six weeks later, we’re into prime time with the Canada Day weekend in the rear view mirror. We hope you enjoyed celebrating this country’s 150th birthday, whether you took time off or were working with plenty of members or public golfers at your operation.
Of course, we all go into the main months of summer optimistically, but this year, given the rain and even flooding that has happened at golf courses across the country this year, a nice summer is more critical instead of wishful thinking at many operations.
How each operation rebounded after we first checked in May will indicate to what degree it needs a stellar summer over the next few months, which leads us to this week’s GNN Poll question.
Did overall business pick up in June?
You can answer below or on the GNN home page and, as always, you can offer your thoughts on this subject in the Comments section below.
