With his tie for 18th at the just-concluded Justin Timberlake event in Las Vegas, Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., found himself in 98th place on the PGA Tour money list with a ticket back to the tour in 2011 without having to attend Q-School.
It was indeed a successful rookie year for the Canadian Tour graduate, but he acknowledges there are plenty of things he can improve on going forward.
For one thing, he suffered from tendinitis and a bulging disc in his back towards the end of the season, when he says the grind of a long season caught up with him before taking a forced extended break throughout September.
Fitness and pacing will be important words for DeLaet when he heads into his second year on tour in 2011. He talked about those very topics in my Sun Media column on Monday. You can read that by clicking here.
