Tendinitis Is Limiting DeLaet’s Swing
August 30, 2010 by Ian Hutchinson
Graham DeLaet missed the cut at The Barclays last week and will be out for a month as the playoffs wind down on the PGA Tour, not a great thing to happen when you’re a rookie trying to keep your card.
However, the forced layoff may be a blessing in disguise for DeLaet for two reasons.
For one thing, it will slow him down and allow him to refresh. DeLaet admits that he may have been pressing too hard in playing a busy schedule, when taking some time off probably would have been better in the long run.
The forced layoff will also help him deal with the effects of tendinitis, which has been hampering his swing, particularly on shots in which there is resistance, such as hitting it out of the rough or bunker shots.
I caught up with DeLaet, who was back him in Boise, and filed this column for Sun Media. You can read it by clicking here.
