An Exotic Story About Sole Power
August 18, 2010 by GNN
The new Exotics Trilogy Rail fairway wood is focused on forgiveness through the use of its three-rail sole.
The large inner rail performs as a rudder to guide the clubface into a square position at impact. The two outer rails make up the last two parts of the Trilogy sole, moving more mass to the heel and toe for better stability on off-centre hits.
The Trilogy also uses CAD frequency analysis to measure frequency from a simulated ball strike to redistribute weight and wall thickness for enhanced forgiveness and feel.
The Trilogy features multi-metal construction and combines a hyper-steel body with a thinner, maraging steel face for more distance. The elliptical variable face thickness in the Trilogy is in place to provide forgiveness and distance from more points on the face.
It also has a 60-gram internal weight to lower the centre of gravity and add stability. The club comes standard with a lightweight Graphite Design Tour AD 60 shaft.
