The second round of the RBC Canadian Open was even more difficult for Mike Weir, who struggled to a four-over score yesterday and finished at six over to miss the cut at St. George’s Golf and Country Club.
Such numbers prompted Sun Media columnist Steve Buffery to suggest on Thursday that Weir is fading fast and the finale of his career is in sight. You can read the Beezer’s column by clicking here.
How the age of 40 is a bullet that brings down a PGA Tour player is beyond me, even if he is suffering from tendinitis. Consider that Vijay Singh has won 22 times on tour since he turned 40 and the list of geriatric achievements in golf goes on and on.
Needless to say, I didn’t leave it to Beezer in terms of the final word. You can read my rebuttal in my Sun Media column that appeared yesterday by clicking here.
