Now, It’s A Tuesday Qualifier

July 19, 2010 by

Christopher Ross of Dundas, Ont., and amateur Beon Yeong Lee of Montreal fired four-under 68s in Monday qualifying at The Club at Bond Head to earn spots in this week’s RBC Canadian Open at St. George’s Golf and Country Club.

Also earning a ticket into the Open was Lucas Lee of Torrance, Calif., who shot a three-under 69, but the final qualifier wasn’t to be decided until Tuesday.

After regulation play, four players were tied for the final spot, including Derek Gillespie of Oshawa, Ont., Jeffery Puska of Ladysmith, B.C., David Williamson of Halifax and Marc Bourgeois of Dieppe, N.B.

Gillespie and Bourgeois were eliminated after one hole of a playoff, leaving Puska and Williamson to duel for that final spot in the Open after play was suspended due to darkness. They were to start Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m.
