Victoria’s Jim Rutledge and Rod Spittle of Niagara Falls, Ont., are the latest to confirm their participation in the Mr. Lube-Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship presented by Cleveland Golf/Srixon.
“The trophy is decorated with legendary Canadian PGA professionals and I would love to add my name to it,” said Rutledge, who will travel to the tournament, July 5-8 at RattleSnake Point in Milton, Ont., from the inaugural Montreal Championship on the Champions Tour.
Rutledge, who has conditional status on the Champions Tour, has played three events so far this year, including a tie for 13th at the Cap Cana Championship in March.
Spittle has also played three events this year, but has taken part in 25 Champions Tour events over the past five years, including a second-place finish at the Greater Hickory Classic in 2007.
“Mr. Lube is thrilled to have Jim Rutledge and Rod Spittle in the field for our first year as the title sponsor of this historic event,” said Stuart Suls, president and chief operating officer of Mr. Lube Canada.
“Our goal is to make this event and the Tournament for Life Pro-Am one of the best in the country and we could not do it without the contributions of these great Canadian PGA professionals.”
