Class Is In Session At GMIC

The Golf Management Institute of Canada has two online classes beginning on Tuesday, including Retail Management in Golf Operations and Entrepreneurship in the Golf Industry.

The first class will concentrate on retail merchandising principles and various target markets for private and public golf retail operations. Also covered will be the formulation of buying plans for both hard and soft goods, price strategies, inventory controls, advertising and promotional strategies.

Other topics will include seasonality, inventory management, customer identification and service, display techniques and promotional ideas for generating additional revenues.

Entrepreneurship in the Golf Industry will introduce students to the concept of entrepreneurship. Students will be encouraged to explore their business ideas and learn to conduct a feasibility study.

Students will learn to identify opportunities and develop strategies by recognizing factors that affect all businesses. They will also learn to organize their business ideas into a concrete business plan.
