Performance polo shirts such as Austin, Gator, Gavin, Colter and Hadden highlight the 2010 fashion-forward Sligo line, along with statement plaid trousers and shorts.
Colours include Crimson, Ice, McKenna, Sligo Green with Sligo’s progressive designs. The new polos also feature a new four-way, mechanical stretch, technical polyester fabric for additional comfort and freedom of motion during the golf swing.
“This collection is definitely geared towards the player that wants to show the Sligo lifestyle, both on and off the course,” said Shawn Aucoin, Sligo Wear’s director of sales.
“From a popularity standpoint, we expect golfers to gravitate to the line as it will be worn by Sligo Wear staff player Brian Gay, who is known for his bold looks on the PGA Tour,” added Aucoin, adding that Digitile is a key feature of the 2010 collection.
T he new Sligo Wear design is influenced by Moroccan tile dating back to the 14th century and still prevalent in Spanish and Portuguese architecture today.
The process of drawing and cutting by hand, combined with complex mathematical formulas remains the same as it has for centuries. Sligo Wear mirrored this same process when creating the pant and jacket which is offered in slate and platinum.
“Digitile in golf apparel is an industry first,” said Aucoin. “The complex designs invoke a historical appreciation for this beautiful art form, while adding a new twist to the apparel marketplace.”
Sligo Wear is also introducing a lifestyle collection that includesntrack jackets and cotton jersey tee shirts to compliment the golf line.
