Weir, Couples To Play Skins

Mike Weir and Fred Couples are the first two players to accept an invitation to play in the Telus World Skins game at La Tempete Golf Club near Quebec City, June 22-23.

“I’ll always remember the support that fans in Quebec showed me during the 2007 Presidents Cup and I’m looking forward to showing the other players one of our most beautiful and historic cities,” said Weir, who has won 20 skins for a total of $400,000 in seven appearances at the competition.

Skins games are a Couples specialty as he has won 62 skins for $1,110,000 in eight appearances at the Canadian event. He has also won more that $4-million at the American skins game.

Three more players will be announced for the event, which will raise proceeds for Operation Enfant Soleil, an organization that invests in pediatric care in Quebec.
