Desjardins, Stewart Win Tex Noble Award

Dallas Desjardins, head professional at the Summerside Golf and Country Club in Summerside, PEI, and Peter Stewart of The Country Club in Woodbridge, Ont., are the 2008 recipents of the Tex Noble Award.

Tex Noble was a former Canadian PGA education director who was renowned for the development and training of young professionals. The award in his name was first handed out in 1992 and recognizes the person who earns the highest mark on the Canadian PGA Class A accreditation exam.

Desjardins and Stewart each had scores of 94 per cent and will each receive a personalized plaque and a $500 bonus from Simmlands Insurance.

Desjardins will receive his prize a the Canadian PGA’s Atlantic meeting on March 26 in Charlottetown, while Stewart will receive his at the Ontario meeting, also on March 26 at the Burlington Golf and Country Club.
