Long Distance Information At No Charge

ORLANDO – Of course, the main mandate of Golf News Now is to bring its readers news and commentary from the golf industry, which is why we’re currently in the Sunshine State to cover the PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center.
As the week progresses, we will be serving up stories about the goings-on as the show ramps up on Thursday, but before we do that, we would like to leave you with an assignment of your own, one that helps us with another important mandate that we identified when first launching this website in September.
Another goal of GNN is to become a meeting place for the Canadian golf industry, which is why we encourage those within it to sign up for our e-mail updates for ease of navigation. Also, take a look on the home page and we have linked up to many of most well-known golf associations in this country.
We also seek and appreciate your opinions by offering the opportunity to agree, disagree or comment in the space below each story. The GNN poll also offers the opportunity for you to chime in on issues of the day, simply by clicking one of the answers provided for each question.
The current poll that was just posted last night has been set up to help us with another GNN project that is designed to make the site even more interactive than ever.
We’re looking at developing message boards that would allow a reader in Charlottetown to converse with somebody in Victoria and all points in between about issues of the day, best practices, new ideas or potential solutions to problems faced every day.
We would also ensure that any questions posed to newsmakers within the Canadian golf industry would be forwarded to those individuals for an answer. It’s a way for colleagues – be they golf professionals, superintendents, owners, suppliers, buyers, etc. – to keep in touch without having to leave their offices.
The message boards would be open for anybody to read, but anybody using this service would need to register in order to comment. Of course, we would require decorum should a disagreement occur, but I expect nothing less of industry types.
So what do you think of this idea? Would you use these message boards regularly? Would this be a valuable service to you?
Please take a moment to offer your opinion on the GNN poll, leave a comment in the space provided below this blog or drop me a line at hutch@golfnewsnow.ca.
That’s your assignment, while I’m on assignment here in Orlando, but before the show starts on Thursday, I’m off to play 18 at the Ginn Reunion Resort.
Did I mention it was supposed to be 25 C with variable cloudiness?
